  Profile
Ray Gelato is truly an international star, who first gained international notoriety when he was featured in a commercial for Levis Dockers, distributed worldwide, performing the classic Renato Carosone sone, "Tu Vuo' Fa L' Americano, made popular by Louis Prima. His lively, swinging vocals, acclaimed tenor sax playing, and swingin' band,' The Ray Gelato Giants', have caused a sensation around the globe.

In the past year, Gelato and his crew have performed at knockout shows and festivals in Italy, America and the U.K. They opened for Robbie Williams at The Royal Albert Hall in London and were chosen by Bryan Adams to entertain his birthday guests. And to top it all off, Ray was invited to play at the coolest party in town: Paul McCartney's wedding! Ray has also for the second time, been invited to play for the Queen of England at her private party at London's Ritz Hotel after her Majesty singled the band out as her favorite.

The Giants consist of some of the finest young musicians around and the energy that Ray and the boys give on stage must be seen to be believed. The Queen certainly had a ball and you're sure to have one too! Ray was asked to perform at the 2004 BBC Proms in the Park in front of an audience of 40,000 in Hyde Park alongside The Corrs and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. In March 2005 Ray was nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Jazz Artist of the Year, where Jamie Cullum joined him in the same category.

Ray's TV appearances continued at the end of April 2005 when he appeared on the hit BBC 1 show 'Strictly Dance Fever' where he performed 'It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That Swing'. A week later, backed by a 35 piece orchestra Ray performed alongside amongst others Katie Melua and Will Young at the BBC's VE Day Concert in Trafalgar Square. The film and advertising community have always liked Ray's music, which is why they have in the past used his tracks for a Levi's advert and in the Jude Law movie Enigma. Hollywood is no exception with the producer's of the latest Hilary Duff and Heather Locklear movie, 'The Perfect Man', securing the rights to Ray's self penned protest song 'Givin' Up Givin' Up. The movie went on worldwide release at the end of July 2005.The Ray Gelato Giant's biography just goes on and on and there's no denying that when you book the band, you are certainly getting one of the best Swing and Jive bands in the world today.
